FREQUENTLY ASKED
Who can join the retreat?
The Jyoti Yoga Teacher Retreat is exclusively designed for certified yoga teachers (RYT 200/300/500 or equivalent) who are looking to deepen their practice, refine their teaching techniques, and reconnect with their true purpose as a yoga teacher.
Ready to explore advanced asana
Interested in immersing themselves in deeper yogic practices.
Seeking a transformative space to elevate their career.
Open to sharing their challenges and engaging in honest, meaningful conversations.
Wanting to connect with like-minded teachers.
What should I bring?
- Your Yoga Mat (Mats are available, but bringing your own is recommended)
- Comfortable Yoga Clothes for different temperatures:
- Rishikesh gets really cold in winter, so please bring a warm sweater.
- Notebook & Pen for journaling & workshop notes
- Refillable Water Bottle (Stay hydrated!)
- Any Personal Props (Blocks, straps, etc. – optional)
- Cash (INR) for small expenses (markets, cafes, etc.)
Please note that January in Rishikesh can be quite cold, especially in the mornings and evenings. We recommend bringing warm clothing such as jackets, scarves, and layers to ensure you’re comfortable during outdoor activities and meditation sessions. Be prepared to embrace the beautiful, crisp winter weather as you deepen your practice.
Note: Rishikesh has many yoga shops where you can buy essentials if needed!
Can I attend if I don’t currently teach?
If you have completed the 200-hour teacher training but are not actively teaching, you are still welcome! This retreat is for those looking to deepen their path as yoga teachers, whether currently teaching or preparing to.
Do I receive a certificate?
This retreat is designed for personal experience and inner growth rather than formal training, so no certification is provided. Our focus is on helping you deepen your practice, relax, and reconnect with yourself in a supportive environment.
Travel Information
- Most international travelers require a tourist visa for India. We recommend applying for an e-Visa at least 4 weeks before departure via the official government website.
- The nearest airport is Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport (DED), located about 35-45 minutes from Rishikesh. Alternatively, you can fly into Delhi (Indira Gandhi International Airport – DEL) and take a domestic flight, train, or taxi to Rishikesh.
Please plan to arrive in Rishikesh on January 5th, as the retreat begins that day. If you require an airport transfer from Dehradun (DED) airport to the retreat center—and back after the retreat—we’re happy to arrange it for you at an additional cost of $25 USD each way, payable on site.
Just let us know in advance if you’d like to book this service, and we’ll coordinate the details for a smooth arrival.
Is Wi-Fi available?
There is limited WiFi at the retreat center. We encourage a digital detox, but if you need to stay connected, consider getting an Indian SIM card for mobile data.
Can I come or leave early?
To get the full experience, we recommend staying for the entire retreat. However, if you have travel constraints, let us know in advance.
refund
To reserve your spot, you have two options:
- Pay a non-refundable deposit of $300 now and settle the remaining amount in cash upon arrival in Rishikesh.
- Pay the full retreat fee online at the time of booking.
Please note: Once you reserve your spot, you are committing to the full retreat fee. In case of cancellation, the entire amount remains due, whether paid in advance or on-site. This policy helps us hold your space and make necessary preparations. We appreciate your understanding.
